taki mundo Switzerland
Members of the Committee are supportive and caring people working in private enterprises
in Switzerland. They all invest their time and engage in this organisation voluntarily.
Astrid von Reding – initiator of the project – is in close contact with all responsible in Mexico
and informs members about any progress made during every monthly meeting held in Switzerland.
Additionally, the managing committee meets regularly in groups to develop new strategies and steps
for the project. The Committee emphasis is mostly on acquiring funds to sustain the project.
More than anything else we want to maintain current expenses for the construction of the school
and further expand the silk-screen printing workshop. Every year at the annual meeting the
Managing Committee informs members and sponsors personally about the development of the project.
Records of these meetings are published on our website.
taki mundo Mexico
Our colleagues working at the education centre in Mexico are seeing to it that local
infrastructure is organized and looked after. Their main responsibility is to teach and
support the deaf and hearing-impaired students. Taki mundo has set the goal to establish
close ties with local government institutions to gain recognition for the education centre
for the deaf. Naturally our Mexican team is making a great effort to raise funds locally and
is also involved in public relations. Teachers are developing specific methods and learning
systems for the deaf. Other members of the Committee are taking part in planning and developing
our education centre. They are prepared to engage themselves long-term. Their wages are paid
by funds, which we acquire in Switzerland after the opening of the school in August 2008.
